This week's prominent release, Amitabh Bachchan's BHOOTHNATH RETURNS (with cameos by SRK and Ranbir), the follow up to his highly successful BHOOTHNATH, opened to a dull response of 20-25 percent on an average. The start was better in the Mumbai and Gujarat belt with around 30-35 percent occupancy. Having said that the reasonable audience feedback, titling towards positive, augers well for the film during the remaining two days of the weekend.
Meanwhile, after a good to decent weekend of around 22 crore, David Dhawan's MAIN TERA HERO maintained quite well during the weekdays, netting around 36 crore (to be validated) during the opening week from India.
As MAIN TERA HERO has already recovered a major chunk of its all-inclusive 38 crore cost, via non-theatrical rights, the Varun, Ileana and Nargis starrer is on way to a sure shot success, even with a half decent second week.
