After an impressive debut in the Telugu hit, PRAYANAM, the vivacious Payal Ghosh wowed the audience in the NTR Jr starrer, OOSARAVELI, thereby assuming the status of a glam-diva!
The Bong beauty is now all set to make her Bollywood debut, opposite none other than Vir Das, along with Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal. Says Payal, "It is true and as you know, I essay the role of a traditional Gujarati girl, while Vir Das plays a Punjabi munda. I am already acknowledged as a glamorous star down south, but that is not a big deal. It is important to captivate the audience with your performance and that is exactly what I do in the Sanjay Chhel film."
Please continue, "You know, I always wanted to be a part of the Hindi cinema industry. However fate had it that I start down south. I come from a traditional Bengali family in Kolkata. I happened to visit my married sister in Bombay and was spotted by this filmmaker from south. I auditioned and got the part. Finally I am here and all set to become a part of Hindi cinema."
When we asked Payal about her exact role in the mentioned film she disclosed, "As I have already said it is Gujarati-Punjabi romance, so there are problems. While Paresh ji essays the role of Vir's father, Rishi Kapoor ji plays my father and he reminded me of my own dad," says Payal laughingly.
Before signing off she also informed that the film had some great music by Lalit Pandit, "The best is my solo number, which is actually a superb 'dandiya' dance number," concluded Payal.
